Regal Faves | Jaime's Top Hair Picks

Like any savvy beauty connoisseur, I’m always on the hunt for new “life altering” hair products to add to or include in my routine. However, while I switch a hair oil here or leave-in conditioner there, some products never seem to leave my routine. I’m sure my mom, sister and even best friend can attest to my irritable mood and incessant complaining when I’ve forgotten even the simplest of things when traveling. Come on, we’re all girls here…you know the feeling. My biggest concerns are that my hair looks like a lion’s mane or my makeup’s just slightly off. However, when I’m armed with my styling faves, I’ve never felt better. Check out some of my must-have’s below:

Hair Faves

Davines Shampoos & Conditioners (1, 2 & 3)

I’ve always admired and envied celebrities who have long, shiny AND healthy looking locks. However, since I don’t have a team of people helping to get me ready in the morning (unless you count Lola), I’ll have to settle for my own skills and product knowledge. The salon I go to exclusively uses Davines hair color and products. Since I color my hair regularly and use heated styling tools, I found myself always searching for something to give me the healthy and shiny hair I had always admired. I started using the Davines line and was blown away with the results. I started with the NouNou line and have since moved to the Melu line, formulated for long hair. Not only has it cut down on breakage, but it has helped strengthen my long hair and give it a brilliant luster! To keep my hair strong and healthy, I also use the Davines Nourishing Hair Building Pak. Depending on the condition of my hair, I leave it on for anywhere from 10 minutes to as long as an hour.

The Wet Brush (4)

For as long as I can remember, I have used the static free Cricket brush. While I’ve never tried a boar bristle brush, the Cricket had always been my go-to. However, at one of my hair appointments my stylist pulled out this new brush that she swore I was going to love. At first I completely discounted the effectiveness of this brush thinking, “Nothing can get through these tangles all at once.” However, I was completely wrong – The Wet Brush cut through my tangles in no time flat and even better, it didn’t tug, tear or pull any of my hair out. It even helped make my hair smoother during dry time. If you haven’t heard of this brush yet, I highly suggest you pick on up and add it to your beauty routine. After the first use, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.

Beauty Protector Leave-In Conditioner (6)

I love, love, love my monthly Birchbox subscriptions. Those of you that haven’t heard of it, need to get one ASAP. It allows you to sample different beauty products each month for a mere $10 per month. This is shear genius in my book! I got the Beauty Protector Leave-in Conditioner one month and was immediately hooked the second I tried it. Not only does it have an amazing smell but it’s super versatile–it conditions, shields from heat and sun damage, and detangles. I have made it a regular part of my routine to not only protect my color but to condition my hair.

Serums and Hair Oils (5, 7 & 8)

I know what you are probably thinking, “Why does my hair need oil?! That’s what I’m trying to stay away from!” However, you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that hair oil can be VERY beneficial for all hair types, helping to provide moisture to dry hair and add brilliant shine to your locks. While I do prefer the Davines hair care line to other lines, I have found that the Macadamia Healing Hair Treatment and the Orofluido Beauty Elixir (another Birchbox fave) have worked the best on my hair, without weighing it down at all. If you haven’t tried those, give ‘em a shot. As for serums, the Davines Melu serum is by far one of my most favorite products. I think it smells like almond-cherry goodness, and when applied to your ends, can help reduce split ends. This product is very versatile as well and can be used on wet and dry hair.

While trying new products can be fun for some, other are probably terrified to switch from their norm. It never hurts to try new products. After all, you’ll never know you like something different if you don’t give it a whirl. What are some of your styling must-haves?
