Regal Holidays ‘13 | Shine, Shimmer and Glow this New Year’s Eve

Yesterday you could have found us sipping tea and waiting patiently while our loved ones unwrapped the gifts we chose for them, all while doing a little unwrapping ourselves! However, today we are fully focused on our New Year’s Eve plans, which of course includes what to wear! It almost seems like you never know exactly what you are going to be doing until the day comes, then you find yourself scrambling through your closet searching for a sparkly party dress or a monochromatic ensemble accented with glittering jewelry and standout footwear. Check out some of our favorite New Year’s Eve looks below:

Sparkle & Shine This New Year’s Eve

For me, I’ve always enjoyed either getting dolled up and going out on the town or cozying up with family and making a big dinner and toasting quietly to the New Year. So if I’m not in my favorite pajamas munching on snacks around the house, I’d opt for either a simple cocktail dress, like the one I’ve chosen by Alice + Olivia, paired with standout accessories sure to help you ring in the New Year in style. Or if you’re not in the dress mood, you can always choose to don a pair on menswear-inspired tuxedo pants a peplum top and fun sparkling accessories as seen in the second outfit above. I may or may not have built the entire outfit off of the glittering Louboutin’s, which is completely acceptable in my book. I added a gold bow belt and some gold jewelry to finalize the look. As you can see, I’m a big fan of black and red, which is perfect for the holiday season!

Also keep in mind that your makeup and hair can either make or break your look. I love big ladylike waves, but I also thoroughly love the look of an elegant chignon with a cocktail dress. Whatever, you end up doing with your makeup and hair, make sure you add a touch of highlighter to your cheekbones to help give you an extra holiday glow!

New Years Eve 2013

It’s not news that I like my style spectrum to range from feminine to edgy. Therefore, my New Year’s Eve look will vary, depending on what mood I’m in. If I’m feeling sassy, a look like the one on the right will be just perfect. Coated denim or leather leggings paired with a flirty lace peplum, fitted blazer and red statement shoes and jewelry make for an elegant yet fun ensemble. If I’m feeling a little more girly (or doing something that calls for fancier attire), a cocktail dress will be my go-to look. is a great option for getting a designer dress for a steal! I love this beauty by Nha Khanh, available for rent at only $150, while these chic bow heels complete the look perfectly. My advice is to just keep in mind what your activities for the evening will consist of. You may really, really want to wear a sparkly cocktail dress for the ‘big night’, but trust me, you also don’t want to be that ridiculously overdressed girl having a low key dinner at a casual restaurant or sitting on the couch at a house party. Just be practical and use the night to your advantage to piece together the perfect outfit for whatever it may bring! As far as makeup goes, I think New Years Eve is the perfect time to go big and bold! Think old Hollywood with a cat eye, bright red lips, and big curls.

Whether you are spending New Year's Eve in on the couch or out on the town, we hope you have a safe evening! We've got exciting content plans for 2014 and can't wait to share them with you.

Regal Holidays '13 | Holiday Party Wear

With Christmas just days away, we’re sure everyone has had their fair share of holiday parties. Like many companies, our’s hosted their annual holiday party this past weekend, giving us a chance to let down our hair, mingle with our co-workers and further enjoy this lovely season. We know what you’re thinking, Christmas in Indiana has got to be snowy and C-O-L-D. This year’s weather has thrown us for a loop and gone from 8 degrees one day to nearly 60 the next. We were lucky enough to have enjoyed the 60 degree weather during our holiday party and had the task of determining what to wear to this festive shindig.

Jaime’s Holiday Party Attire

Last year, I opted to wear a sparkling Milly dress from, patterned hose, and patent heels. This year, I wanted to find something that I could incorporate into my wardrobe, but still be perfect for the holidays. So when I went shopping with my fabulous mother-in-law on Black Friday, I was on the lookout for something special. Immediately when I walked in the door of Free People, my eyes locked onto a mesh and lace dress that featured a tailored bodice and flowing ruffle skirt. It was AMAZING, and see through, so I purchased that dress and a black seamless slip and off I went. While the dress was a fairly simple shape, I added a sparkling bow belt and crystal statement necklace to complete the look. Finally, I donned a pair of my favorite leopard heels and the look was complete!

Kacie’s Holiday Party Attire

About a month ago, I found an amazing Jessica Simpson dress on and I knew it would be perfect for the holidays! Unfortunately I got a size too big, but after a trip to a seamstress it was a perfect fit! Of course, it needed some sparkle so I added a crystal statement necklace, a jeweled bracelet (last time I wore this bracelet was for my wedding!), and some sequin-embellished suede pumps to finish it off. And yes, I cut my hair off! Figuring out how to style it has been a challenge but it's really starting to grow on me! In the end, I was happy with my look for my first company holiday party!

We were happy to do attend our holiday party and enjoy the company of our co-workers and their families, tights-free may we add, due to the nice warm weather! How about you? Have you attended your company’s holiday party this year?

Regal Holidays ‘13 | All We Want For Christmas

Each year we’re tasked with coming up with a list of things we want for Christmas. You know exactly what we’re talking about here. You always have relatives, spouses or significant others that are pleading with you to come up with a list they can shop from. Let’s face it, you can add whatever you’d like to your dream Christmas wish-list, but you might not always get it. Santa can only be so generous. :)

Check out our “Lists” below to see what we’re wishing for this holiday.

Jaime’s Wish-List

Regal Holidays | Jaime's Christmas Wish-List

Normally I opt for creating a simple word doc with links to the items I want. This year however, I joined the 21st century and created an Amazon Wish List that allowed me to put everything all in one place, including images of the products. Genius right? My wish list is a hodge-podge of housewares and accessories. I’m a huge jewelry lover so some of the list’s top items didn’t make the list, but one of the items I’m hoping to get this is a new Michael Kors Hamilton bag. I love the silver accents and the big lock hardware! The Michael Kors gold link watch is another fave, as you’ve seen in past blog posts, and the Tiffany’s lock bracelet has been on my wish list since I saw it a couple of months ago. Are you seeing a theme here? I have an affinity for locks apparently.

I’ve also got some of my favorite products from Lush on my list–Dream Cream and Ocean Salt Scrub. Both of these are amazing products and provide the perfect amount of moisture and skin-sloughing for the cold, dry winter months. I’ve also got an assortment of my favorite Bond No. 9 perfumes and random home decor items, including a cool set of eiffel tower bookends and a plate and bowl set that would be perfect for soup and grilled cheese on chilly days. One of the biggests staples of my Christmas list each year are movies. I am a huge movie fanatic and LOVE going to the movies and catching the latest release. On my list this year, I have The Kings of Summer, Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and an oldie, Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Kacie’s Wish-List

Wow, apparently I have a thing for rose gold this year! While Jaime’s list includes some tech items and home goods, mine is chock full of fashion and beauty items - I get right to the point. The Urban Decay Naked 3 palette is probably on most gals’ lists this year. This collection features various shades of rose gold, which, fortunately, goes with this year’s theme (obviously). The new Forever Red Vanilla Rum body cream from Bath & Body Works, the GlamGlow face mask and Viktor & Rolf’s holiday edition of Flowerbomb complete my beauty wishes. Number one on my list is the Michael Kors Hamilton Specchio Tote, with rose gold hardware. It’s absolutely gorgeous! And how cute are these bow embellished Uggs? Love these! A cute graphic tee, a watch, and a cute little cat ear ring round out my list this year.

What are you wishing for this year? Are some of these items on your list too?

Regal Holidays ‘13 | A Chic Home for the Holidays

With Thanksgiving under our belts (and plenty of yummy treats, too), we have finally reached our favorite holiday season of the year. Starting December 26th, we can’t wait for the next holiday season to arrive. The ornately decorated stores, the bright lights and the beautiful trees are just a few of our favorite things. Amongst the delicious desserts and treats, one of the holiday traditions we look forward to the most is getting out all of our decor. After all, we want our homes to reflect how excited we are about the holidays! Check out how we style our homes to match the enthusiasm we have for the “most wonderful time of the year”.

Jaime’s Holiday Decor

I’ve always been the type of person who needs a theme, so when it came time for decorating I tasked myself with finding the perfect decor for both my tree and my mantle. Since moving into our home three years ago (Yikes, has it really been that long?!), I tried to do a black, white and red theme, a silver theme, a red theme…you get where I’m going with this one? I couldn’t narrow anything down because I love the holiday’s and I didn’t want to limit myself to just one specific look. So as you can see, my decor is a hodge-podge of color, glitter and lights. One of my favorite things however, is how warm and cozy it feels–the perfect ambiance of the holidays! As you can see from the photos, Kacie and I both fell in love with and purchased the glittering reindeer names print from Kirklands. I couldn’t be more excited with how looks on my mantle with the two large reindeer. It’s still a work in progress finding the proper proportions for such a tiny area, but it works for me! My tree is decorated with a variety of ornaments, most of which being glittering hand-blown glass pieces that I’ve picked up at a hometown fave, Warsaw Cut Glass. As you can see, one of my favorite ornaments I’ve is my “Elf Ale” ornament. I mean, who doesn’t want a treat that sports “Elf Ale” during the holidays? It can’t all be about jolly ol’ Saint Nick after all.

Lastly, even the pooch gets some holiday love (whether she likes it or not). After a quick bath, Lola is now strutting a peppermint printed collar with a bright red flower for the holidays. She looks thrilled, eh?

So whether you’re a glitter fanatic or a holiday minimalist, the best advice I can offer when it comes to holiday decor is to do something the represents you. I’m quirky and have a knack for sparkles and glittering objects, which is reflected in my holiday decor. Don’t try and put yourself in a box, I say go all out and mix-and-match the old and new and just make it you!

Kacie’s Holiday Decor

I have yet to become a homeowner, so my space is much smaller - but I make it work! Shortly before Thanksgiving, I started getting all of my stuff out of storage and went to work. I found this adorable reindeer name sign at Kirklands (look familiar? Jaime has it too!), which went just perfectly with this little reindeer and the lights and red garland in my entryway. No mantle means a stocking holder for me, complete with two little stockings for the kitties.

The kitties were thrilled by the new Santa hat (I promise I’m not one of those people who put clothes on their cats. It was on just long enough to snap a picture). Once the lights were hung on the balcony, it was time to assemble the tree (even the fishies have their own tree). My tree has a strict theme of white, silver, and pale gold ornaments, and my favorite is this crystal ornament from the year Jarrod and I got married. It looks so pretty with the lights shining through!

I’m a glitter addict throughout the year, but Christmas is a time when it is absolutely acceptable to coat your house in sparkles. It’s just more fun that way, right?! My advice is to not get too caught up in a theme. Head out to the stores and find what speaks to you. You never know when a quirky little piece you pick up will end up a holiday favorite to pass down in your family!

With our holiday decor almost complete, what do you think we're missing? We'd love to hear about your holiday favorites and if you have any decorating tips to share! Happy Holidays!
