Mo' Muggles, Mo' Problems

"In dreams, we enter a world that’s entirely our own."
– Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Let’s get this out of the way–I’m a total nerd. I love to read and tend to gobble books up quickly, always with another book in my reserve to devour. I was always a big fan of the Harry Potter movies, but when I decided to finally read the books, I fell in love the whimsy and wit found in the entire series. It should not surprise you that when I found out about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, located in Universal Orlando, I had to go!

I finally got my chance recently when I went on a work trip to Orlando. In between booth setup and preparation, my boss and I ventured to the park with the sole purpose of fulfilling my dream of visiting the Harry Potter theme park. Let’s just say this, I was skipping a being my goofy-self as I was wondering out to the car in the morning, that’s how excited I was.

Needless to say, we made our way into the park and I was snapping pictures left and right making sure to take in every ounce of this both Hogsmeade and Hogwarts. Love love love this entire theme park and I am even more excited to see they are expanding the park to include Diagon Alley. Yes….totally nerded out on that one.

P.S. – Let’s also note that I rocked yet ANOTHER pair of shorts. Let’s be honest here, it was blazing hot and I was forced into this decision. Ha!

Polka Dots + Rose Gold

Top: Forever 21 {old} | Shorts: Target {old} | Shoes: Oasap | Watch: Target {old} | Bow Bracelet: Jane | Love Bracelet: Baublebar

Can we please talk about this brick wall? Jaime and I typically take our photos at work and unfortunately, the spring wind hates us and ruins all of our fun pictures. That's where the reliably sheltered brick wall comes in...

I wore this to the office last week and fell in love with how light and airy it was in the hot and humid weather we've been having. These shorts (yes, those are shorts!) are so comfy and were a perfect compliment to my Yves St. Laurent-inspired blouse. Although I didn't recently buy these shorts, it was the first time I'm worn them and they may just be my new fave! I completed the look with some rose gold accessories and some beachy waves for the perfect 9-5 look!

Just in case you missed it earlier this week, don't forget to enter to win a $50 gift certificate to –– you can enter here!

Regal Fave | Dirty Diet Coke

Dirty Diet Coke Ingredients

  • 1 can of Diet Coke
  • Splash of International Delight's Almond Joy Creamer (Add as much or as little as you'd like)
  • Splash of lime juice, either fresh squeezed or from the bottle
  • Adorable glass & fun straw (Courtesy of my fab co-worker, Jules!)
Say what?! A dirty Diet Coke? When Corrine at posted on Instagram about the deliciousness that is dirty Diet Coke, I knew I had to try it. Diet coke, lime juice and coconut sounded like the perfect summer drink that would immediately transport me to the beach. If only! While I didn't open my eyes and find myself back in St. Thomas, I can say this drink has the perfect flavoring combo. If you loved the creaminess of root beer floats as a kid, you'll love this drink just as much. The almond joy creamer adds the perfect amount of coconut flavoring and helps transform your ordinary Diet Coke into so much more. Throw it in an adorable flamingo glass and you're one step away from a stay-cation. Give it a shot! I promise you won't be disappointed.

This has become my go-to drink for an afternoon pick-me-up! What are your fave summertime drink concoctions?

Summer Crush: Swimwear

With temps in the 90s, it's hard to believe that it's still spring. Regardless of the season, its that time of year when we all head outside in hopes of achieving a bronzey glow (responsibly of course, slather yourself up in sunscreen first, ladies!). Whether you're laying poolside at your apartment clubhouse or jet setting off on a beach vacay, adorable swimwear is a must! Check out some of the items I'm crushing on right now and shop, shop, shop away!

Peplum Party!

Shorts: White House Black Market | Top: Anthropologie {old} | Jacket: JCPenny {old} | Shoes: BCBG Generation {old} | Necklace: Betsey Johnson {old} | Bracelets: Olive + Piper {1, 2}, Crystal Dot bracelet

Let me start off by saying, I highly, highly dislike shorts. Odd huh, since I'm wearing them in this style post. My legs have always been a problem area for me and I've struggled with my perceptions of them for years, always thinking they are bigger than what they probably are. Therefore, I've always steered clear of shorts in general for fear that I would look terrible. It doesn't help that I've always had a smaller waist, which I am super thankful for, but then have what I call "hamhocks" for thighs. This year I've decided to cross the boundary line I've boxed myself in to and try and out my arch nemesis, shorts. (Side note: my mom and sister joke that I'm like Rio the bird–I like my cage and no change. Who's with me!?)

After trying a few different styles, I settled on these beauties from White House Black Market and I fell in love. I still can't believe I'm wearing these, but I love them! They are so comfortable and I've found that the right cut and material can be super flattering. Enjoy this look and I'll continue trying to cross my own personal style boundaries and showcase pieces I normally wouldn't feel comfortable wearing. After all, constantly pushing myself, even if I'm taking baby steps, brings me one step further on my personal style journey. I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from Grey's Anatomy:

“At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out. They fence you in. Life is messy. That's how we're made. So, you can waste your lives drawing lines. Or you can live your life crossing them.”

Glam & Girly Gingham | Part 2

Jaime's Look Features: Top: J.Crew {Old} | Jeans: Express | Necklace: Mindy Mae's Market | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: David Yurman
Okay, while I may or may not be wearing a top that closely resembles a picnic table cloth, I'm still in love with this gingham top. The color is the perfect citrus hue for spring and the can be dressed up or down depending upon the occasion. In my previous post, I styled this top for chic workday look. Today, I've opted to style it casually, pairing it with distressed denim, a sparkling statement necklace and silver flats. One of the things I look for when shopping is versatility and this top definitely fits my requirements! Enjoy!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

With a title like that you're probably expecting to see some fabulous, fave-team looks, you'd be sadly mistaken however. While we love baseball games with salted pretzels and crisp drinks just like the next girl, we'd much rather sport a jeweled baseball-style shirt from J.Crew. After seeing this top online, we knew we both had to have it and were able to style it in two versatile looks.
