Vegan Leather & Cozy Sweaters

Wearing – Sweater: Satori Crystal Boutique | Leggings: Satori Crystal Boutique | Necklace: old w/ David Yurman Infinity Enhancer | Shoes: Steve Madden | Bracelets: David Yurman 1, 2
Watch: Michael Kors

Don't get me wrong, I've always been one to sacrifice comfort for style. However, when I come across that rare moment when style and comfort intersect, I can't help but RUN toward the items jump up and down like a little girl, squealing with delight. Which is pretty much what I did when I saw these leggings and this sweater. For starters, this sweater may just look like a simple knit sweater, but close up there are little silver threads woven into the off-white fabric making this sweater shine. The added leather pocket, side zipper detailing and the chiffon back make this a must have piece to battle the upcoming winter weather.

Don't even get me started on these leggings either. I'm pretty sure they were sent from heaven to be given to fashionable girls everywhere. I know you may be thinking, they are just leggings, how special can they be? Well fashionable friends, these aren't just any leggings. They are made of a double ponte stretch material and boast a higher waistline, complete with slimming shapewear, and the perfect vegan leather side accents. I'm telling you, once you put these bad boys on, you may not want to take them off this winter–except for washing that is. Give 'em a try and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

And before you say, "She's totally being paid to say this." I can assure you that is not the case. I just want to share my find with you. No compensation necessary here!

It's a Magic Potion

It's a Magic Potion

This, my friends, isn't a bunch of hocus pocus. It's a legit beauty must-have that every girl needs to look spellbinding. I have used C.O. Bigelow's Dr. Galen Herbal Skin Tonic for years as my go-to, skin clearing toner and it has never failed me–hence its description as a magic potion. While working at Bath and Body Works in college, we started carrying the C.O. Bigelow line and I instantly fell in love. As a broke college kid, nothing was more bank-breaking for me than working at the mall AND at a store that sold candles, lotions and potions of all kinds. So like any girl, I dove into the brand and tried each product that I could.

Back to the product at hand, Dr. Galen Herbal Skin Tonic. Regardless of what skincare you use, I've always incorporated this toner into my beauty routine. Formulated for normal to oily skin, this tonic is comprised of witch hazel, rosemary and clary sage extracts and exfoliating salicylic acid that helps to refresh your skin in the most amazing way. When applied, you feel it immediately clear out your pores, leaving behind a cool, clean and refreshed appearance. No tricks here!

I've struggled with redness, psoriasis and little bouts of acne for years (haven't we all!?) and this is the one product that I'll never stray from. I've already got two of my co-workers using it and they are in love too. So maybe it is a potion, carefully crafted of course by one of the nation's oldest apothecary brands. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. After all, ghoulish skin is only appropriate one time of year.

"Wine" a Little Bit, You'll Feel Better

Wearing – Sweater: Express | Tank: Express | Pants: Vigoss Coated Denim {sold out; similar} | Booties: Sam Edelman {old; similar} | Watch: Vince Camuto | Necklace/Earrings: Shop Bella C

Lately, every morning I find myself whining silently, or sometimes not so silently, "I have NOTHING to wear." Yeah, we've all been there. I sit there and stare blankly at a closet filled with beautiful clothes and say this, when it all actuality, the problem is that I have creative block when it comes to putting new outfits together. We'll just say my fashion canvas is blank. Whether it's the changing weather or my desire to keep my summer and fall items in my rotation a bit longer, I have little outfit inspiration these days. So I decide to combat this by going back to the basics–simple color combos, fun jewelry and of course fabulous shoes help me get through these conundrums.

After whining to the only person awake–my dog, Lola–I managed to rummage through sweaters to find one I forgot I purchased a little while back. I had been looking for a wine colored, waffle knit sweater for some time and thankfully found one at Express. Definitely a great buy if you're looking for something cozy! Paired with a matching lace tank, black coated denim and a new favorite neutral, leopard, I managed to leave the house looking put together.

Let's be honest, I was two seconds from wearing my bath robe into the office if I hadn't found this outfit. My co-workers can thank me later. Ha!

Regal Recap | Bailey R. Moore Foundation Fashion Show & Luncheon

My sister and her roommate, aka - the Bailey booth helpers!

If you've been reading along, you are familiar with the story of my sister who passed away from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of 14 in March of 2011. While undergoing treatment, it was her wish to give back to people in our community who had been so generous to her, and our family, while she was sick. Unfortunately, she was unable to fulfill this dream herself, which is why we founded the Bailey R. Moore Foundation–an established 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization–in her honor. Through this foundation, we work to provide as many students from my hometown as we can with $1,000 scholarships.

Anyone who met my sister felt an immediate connection to her. During her entire illness she maintained her bright and vibrant personality that she was known for and inspired others to “Be More”. This mantra, along with her signature phrase “Let it Go” has been instilled in the foundation and our work. This was her phrase long before the movie Frozen. Ha!

Each fall we do a fundraiser to help build the scholarship fund and this year was no exception. We held the annual B Moore Fashion Show and Luncheon on Sunday, October 19, and were able to raise enough money through t-shirt sales and donations to keep the Foundation progressing forward and growing. We even had a local boutique, Satori Crystal Boutique, that generously brought their fall items to showcase alongside the Bailey-gear, and also donated 25% of their proceeds to the Foundation. We know Bailey would have LOVED to see where we have taken her dream and I'm proud of the work we've been able to accomplish in just four short years.

At the end of the event, we always launch balloons to celebrate another fundraising event, and this year was no exception. After we got everything packed up, we went outside to launch our balloons and congratulate each other on another job well done. Don't worry, I made sure the balloons were biodegradable too!

Super Simple Apple Crisp

Yesterday I shared an outfit post from my trip to the apple orchard. Why did I want to go to the apple orchard in the first place? Not only to take in the beautiful Fall views, but so I can make apple crisp. It's my fave! So, I thought I'd share my super simple recipe so you can try it out. After all, 'tis the season -  apple season, that is!

Here's the ingredients, literally, this is it: apples, quick oats, yellow cake mix, sugar, cinnamon and a stick of butter.
Simply peel, core, and slice your apples and place them in a lightly greased 13 x 9 baking pan. In a medium sized bowl, combine your dry ingredients.
Melt the stick of butter and mix into your dry ingredients until a thick batter is formed and then sprinkle on top of your apples.
Now you're ready to bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown on top.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

You can use any apple that you like, but I always go for the Jonathan apples as they are super sweet and perfect for baking. I've shared the recipe below so feel free to try it out or pin it to share the warm appley goodness!

Fall Orchard Fun

Last week I had the pleasure of using some vacation days to take a week off of work. While most of the week was spent running errands, Jarrod and I did get the opportunity to go to our favorite apple orchard, Anderson Orchard.

Top: Forever 21 | Denim: MNG by Mango | Jacket: Arizona Jean Co. (old) | Booties: Mossimo | Watch: Akribos XXIV | Bracelets: Forever 21

Let me just say that when I go to the orchard, I do not pick apples. Let's face it, there is nothing I fear more in life than bees, plus, there are so many different kinds, it's a little overwhelming. So, I just head to the store up front and grab a half a peck of Jonathan apples, along with a cider slushy, and I'm ready for the real reason I came to the orchard.

That reason is the view in the pictures above, located at the back of the orchard. The Fall colors and the rows of apple trees are just beyond gorgeous. For this outing, I chose traditional Fall staples, burgundy, plaid, a denim jacket, and booties. Unfortunately, it started to rain when we took these pictures so my hair looks kind of awful, but we had a great time anyway!

Lace Statement Tee

We've all heard of the graphic tee, but what about the statement tee? Embellishments such as jewels, embroidery, lace, and fun hemlines take a casual tee to the next level - and there's nothing I love more than being comfy while looking dressy!

Top: Free People | Pants: Aeropostale (old) | Pumps: Nine West | Necklace: Mindy Mae's Market | Earrings: Forever 21 | Watch: Akribos XXIV | Bracelets: Forever 21 | Lips: Wet n Wild Ferguson Crest Cabernet

Remember this post that Jaime shared back in September? We both came across this top a billion years ago and stalked it until it went on sale when we each snatched it up in our favorite color. She wore hers this summer with white skinnies while I saved mine for Fall so I could wear it with coated denim.

While I love the unique lace detailing on this peplum tee, it seems it was made for someone with a much shorter torso than I...much shorter. In fact, I had to throw a black camisole on underneath to prevent my skin showing on the sides - no bueno! But alas, it was perfect for a dreary Fall day with a statement necklace and bold lip color.

Blanketed in Plaid

Wearing – Sweater: Merona | Top: Bailey 44 {old} | Jeans: Old Navy | Boots: Ivanka Trump
Scarf: Stacy Brown Designs | Bracelets: Olive + Piper | Earrings: Shop Bella C
Watch: Vince Camuto

Remember when Kacie and I talked about taking quick pictures on our lunch break? Yeah, this is another one of those moments were we ran outside, took pictures, scarfed down our food and went about our work day again. To say we are EXCELLENT multi-taskers would be an understatement. In fact, we actually ran outside after going to Bath and Body Works to grab some candles, Trader Joe's to pick up some snacks, Target to grab a few things and then came back to the office–all with 15 minutes to spare. Yeah, we're speedy, what can I say.

Can I also say comment that this scarf is SO comfortable? If all plaid is this comfortable I may end up looking like a picnic table because I'll totally blanket myself in it–in the most fashionable way possible of course. When I first bought this blanket scarf from Stacy Brown Designs, I was in love with the plaid print, but more so the adorable monogram. I never thought I'd want to wear monogrammed items, but I've definitely changed my mind. I can't wait to wear this with scarf with more stuff this fall and winter!

What are have been your go-to pieces during fall?
