Thanksgiving Eve

Wearing – Sweater: c/o Satori Crystal Boutique | Tank: c/o Satori Crystal | Leggings: Satori Crystal Boutique {same} | Necklace: c/o Satori Crystal Boutique | Belt: c/o Satori Crystal Boutique
Shoes: Fergalicious {old}

Let's be honest here, that last thing you want to see today is my mug as you plan out your Thanksgiving outfits and dishes, but here I am! I'll make this short and sweet–you've probably noticed that Kacie and I have been collaborating with Satori Crystal, an amazing Indiana boutique. Run by an amazing husband-wife duo, the stores main focus is outfitting women with the most fashionable armor to take on the challenges of everyday life. I am well acquainted with the owners of the boutique and they are probably the most genuine, good-hearted people you will meet. The boutique itself is heavily involved with my sister's foundation–as you saw in this post–and it's sister business, Creative Marketing Concepts, actually orders, designs and screen prints each of the t-shirts available through the foundation.

I personally love the clothing at Satori Crystal, and I know you will too! So much so that my entire outfit is from there. This wasn't by intention either, I completely forgot that the vegan leather leggings I was wearing were from there. Ha! The sweater was super adorable on and featured this amazing hand crocheted detailing all through it, and the necklace added something extra to the neckline.

I'm heading to Columbus, OH for Thanksgiving and then Black Friday shopping with my mother-in-law, which is always super fun! Put two life-long shoppers together and you've got trouble. Regardless of whether or not you're staying in your hometown for the holidays or traveling, be safe and thankful for those around you.

Thanksgiving Style + Holiday Hostess Gifts

Seriously, can you believe its November 24th already? Yeah, we can't either. It seems like it was just springtime and we were planning out our fun warm weather gear. Now it seems like we are arming ourselves with whatever we can find to be the warmest. With that said, Thanksgiving is only a few days away and we are already planning out what we'll wear to our fun-filled Thanksgiving get-togethers. We were fortunate enough to be accessorized this holiday season by The Shopping Bag and thankfully have our perfect turkey-day outfits planned out. While being properly dress is key to a great day with family, you can't forget about the hostess. Check out our outfits and our hostess guide below for inspiration.

Jaime's Thanksgiving Style

Top: JCPenney | Tank: Express | Pants: Old Navy {old; similar} | Horn Necklace: The Shopping Bag | Shorter Necklaces: Long & Layered Boutique | Shoes: Sam Edelman {old}| Bracelets: Charming Charlie's & Olive + Piper | Watch: Vince Camuto

With families in northern Indiana and Ohio, we determined the best way to spend time with our families during the holidays was to head to Ohio for Thanksgiving, and then spend Christmas with my family in northern Indiana. That way we could spend ample time with each of our families without feeling the need to run off to the next event. So while in all actuality I'll probably be wearing my finest yoga pants and comfy tee, this would be a great Thanksgiving outfit. The harvest-y colored pants, neutral top and fun horn necklace would be perfect for a day with family.

Kacie's Thanksgiving Style

Blouse: Forever 21 | Vest: Ebay | Denim: AE | Heels: Mossimo (old) | Earrings: The Shopping Bag

Even though it's just my immediate family at my parent's house for dinner, I still like to dress up for Thanksgiving. This blush colored blouse is a perfect match for my faux fur vest that I got on eBay for less than $12 (can you believe that??), light-washed denim jeans and nude snakeskin pumps. And  these Linda Oval Drop Earrings add the extra touch of sophistication that I needed to complete this look.

Don't Forget about the Hostess

While rushing around, crossing loved one's gifts off your list, don't forget to get a small gift for each of the hostesses whose parties you'll be attending this year. We've compiled some ideas below from our friends at The Shopping Bag. Pick up a few of these items and dazzle your hostess, because after all who wouldn't want a set of silicone teacup molds for baking or some fabulous scrub from our favorite, Farmhouse Fresh.

Baby It's Cold Outside

Sweater: c/o Satori Crystal Boutique | Denim: AE | Booties: Glaze | Scarf: Target (old) | Watch: Akribos XXIV | Bracelets: Target (old)

I don't know about you but I'm always looking for tops with unique features to add some fun detail to the mix. This sweater is one of those tops! It not only has metallic gold threads woven in but also has a super fun zipper that goes all the way up the back (you can kind of see it in the third picture). Satori Crystal Boutique has so many cute things right now - I definitely recommend checking them out!

This look was totally inspired by the wintery weather we've been having. Cozy sweaters, whimsy scarves, gold shimmer and fun wedge booties made for a comfy casual look for a Friday at the office!

Black Hat Chic

Top: Mossimo (old) | Blazer: Christian Siriano (old) | Denim: AE | Booties: Mossimo | Necklace & Bracelet: Groopdealz | Watch: Michael Kors | Hat: Old Navy (no longer available)

It's a wonder that I'm smiling in these photos...

Earlier this week, Jaime and I headed to our regular lunchtime haunt - AKA Target - and snapped these photos in subzero temperatures. Okay, so maybe it wasn't subzero exactly but I do believe this was the closest I've ever been to having hypothermia.

Is anyone else still loving the floppy hat trend? I found this one at Old Navy earlier this Fall and am so glad I gave it a try! I am all about using accessories to add a little somethin' somethin' to my look and this hat, bow necklace and arm candy were the perfect mates with my ruffled blouse and blazer. Hope everyone is having a great week  - I'm getting super excited for the holidays. I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! Craziness!

Buffalo Plaid in July

Top: Mossimo | Sweater: Kohls | Leggings: Gunny Sack and Co. | Shoes: 2 Lips | Necklace: Mindy Mae's Market

Oh, it's November you say?

I know -  but I came across this sweater at Kohls back in July and have been hoarding it for the right Fall moment. I have a tendency to do that. Unfortunately, it's no longer available but it's still cute right? In other news, I've finally jumped on the leather leggings bandwagon and I'm loving it! I bought this pair from Gunny Sack and Co. and guess what?? They're fleece lined! In other words, they're super comfy and super warm which is perfect since we're getting our first snow as I type, bah!

Pretty, Pretty Polka Dots

Wearing – Sweater: c/o Satori Boutique  | Leggings: Satori Boutique | Shoes: Fergalicious {old; similar} | Bracelets: Jane {similar} | Watch: Vince Camuto | Necklace: JCrew

It's officially sweater weather, and as much as I would love to have summer and fall stick around, I'm happy to break out my leggings, sweaters and boots. Although the idea of snow, and driving in snowy weather, still makes me way anxious. I mean, snow is super fun when you get to sit inside with your hot cocoa and admire it from afar...then you have to drive to work in it, let's be honest here, that is no fun.

Back to the main attraction here–how awesome is this sweater? I've been looking for sweaters that are long enough to wear with leggings for a couple of months now, and this one definitely fits the bill. It's super soft and cozy, but the ruffling around the hemline and adorable polka dots make it all the more fabulous. I love the cris-cross back that ties with a bow too! These vegan leather leggings are ridiculously soft, too. They are from the same brand as my vegan leather paneled ones in this post, and provide the same amount all-over stretch and comfort as their counterpart. L-O-V-E!

In(vest)ment Pieces & Deals

Wearing – Top: Jane {sold out} | Vest: J.Crew Factory | Shoes: Steve Madden | Pants: Vigoss {sold out; similar} | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: David Yurman 1, 2 | Ring: David Yurman
Necklace: Bauble Bar

I need to start out this post first and foremost by saying, "Happy Veteran's Day!" Both Kacie and I are off work today to celebrate the holiday, but we can never forget the price that freedom costs. Our service men and women work each day to protect that freedom that you and I both enjoy–vacations, family get-togethers, sporting events, etc. These men and women have sacrificed time with their families, comfort of their home and favorite foods, and sometimes their lives to keep this country free and for that, I thank them!

I'm not going to say too much about this outfit. Mainly because my hair is flying backwards and I'm channeling Farrah Fawcett circa 1980 with this windblown look, but I still loved the background and the outfit in general. If you don't believe me on the wind factor, check out Kacie's post for validation. Enjoy!

Brazilian Blowout Bonanza

So, I don't know if it's just my body chemistry changing or damage from years of using heat tools and hair color but my hair has become quite frizzy over the last few years and nothing seems to tame it - not even a flat iron. Recently when my wonderful hair stylist (who also happens to be my sister in law and owns the cutest little salon on the west side of Indy) became Brazilian Blowout certified, I knew it was something I wanted to try!

Let me tell you, I am so happy with the results! In the photo above, you can see my hair before the treatment on the left and after on the right - and I didn't even have to straighten it to get it to look like that. Simply dry it with a hair dryer and have shiny, smooth, straight hair!

How does it work? The process begins with a simple wash to make sure your hair is squeaky clean. Then the solution is applied to sections of your air dried hair and combed through, blow dried and straightened with a flat iron. Next it's back to the shampoo bowl to rinse the solution out (no shampoo needed) and apply a hydrating masque. After rinsing the masque out, the hair is dried with a hair dryer and you are done! While the process seems simple, it should most definitely only be done by a certified stylist.

Using the Brazilian Blowout shampoo, conditioner and masque (the masque alone is amazing - it's referred to as a "mini blowout in a tube") at home will help you maintain the results for up to 12 weeks! And because the solution creates a protective barrier on the hair, it also protects your color and fights heat damage, cuts down on drying time and helps with de-tangling.

I absolutely recommend this service to anyone looking to tame frizz - it's life changing!

Don't forget to enter our AMAZING giveaway below - there's still a few days left until a winner is chosen! Good luck!
