Truly, Madly Marsala

When Marsala was announced as the Pantone 2015 Color of the Year, I knew it was a shade I could totally get on board with (remember this post?). It's such a classic shade that really complements my skin tone so I'm grabbing pieces in this color left and right to add to my closet. Enter this Forever 21 peplum top with it's intricate embroidery and button-up back and I'm in heaven!

Now, let's talk accessories. I scored these amazing earrings from Charlotte Russe a couple weeks ago for under $10 and the Express clutch and Jessica Simpson booties were gifted to me at Christmas. Jackpot! Shop my look (and similar items) below!

Winter Skin Remedies

Winter Skin Remedy
1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

Can we for a quick second talk about how much I hate winter? I mean, sure the snow is pretty and when you get to play outside it's super fun. However dry, dull skin, static-infused hair and the need to layer on 17 items of clothing before going outside are not the most fun thing I can think of. Needless to say, tank top weather can not come soon enough for me. In the mean time, while the weather might be dull and dreary, your skin certainly doesn't have to be. My skin has been through the winter-ringer and I've compiled some of my faves to help you battle winter skincare concerns.

1 // Farmhouse Fresh Body Scrub: A good body scrub is a necessity year round, but definitely in the winter. Get ride of dully, flaky skin by sloughing off this unsightly layer. I have found that my fave body scrubs are oil based, like the one pictured above, and provide your skin with another added layer of moisture.

2 // Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial: I was recently introduced to the sleeping facial phenomenon while browsing Sephora for hydrating products, and this one my friends is nothing short of fabulous. The smell is amazing and leaves your face feeling smooth, supple and oh-so-moisturized.

3 // The Body Shop Almond Body Butter: Like I said, I struggle with ridiculously dry skin year round, but have found that when I use this consistently, my skin stays moisturized longer and has a lovely glow to it. The consistency is super thick and just what the doctor ordered for this girl's dry skin.

4 // LUSH Ro's Argan Body Conditioner: I don't know about you guys, but I love LUSH products, and could drool over the delicious scents of their bath bombs. When I need a little extra hydration, I turn to this product. Think of it just as you would your hair conditioner. It helps make your skin feel silky smooth, just like your hair conditioner would.

5 // LUSH The Olive Branch Shower Gel: Alright stylish friends, I'm extending the olive branch and sharing with you one of my faves. This skin softening organic olive oil shower gel helps to soothe dry skin unlike any shower gel I've tried. The yummy smell isn't too shabby either.

So you're probably looking at this list and thinking, "What in the hell? How is this girl not a walking greasy mess?" Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing as I was looking at all of these products. But alas, my face is oily/combination, my body is dry...I'm just a big hot mess over here. What can I say?

Yes, I'm An Actual Cat

Top: Forever 21 | Denim: RND Robert Rodriguez | Shoes: Forever 21 |
Hat: JC Penney (similar) | Sunglasses: old | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: In Pink

If you know me personally, you know I absolutely adore cats. In fact, I often find myself telling my kitties before work in the morning (mostly on Mondays) that I wish we could switch places. I mean, who wouldn't want to just stay home and lay around all day??

My mom who knows me oh-so-well got me this adorably soft cat ear beanie last Christmas and this year she gifted me with this adorable little cropped tee I had been wanting. Of course, no look is complete without a pop of hot pink so I added my fave MK watch and neon framed aviators, threw on some leopard print slides and was on my way. All in all, this casual look was just purrfect for a Saturday spent shopping and running errands.

Bow Tied

Wearing – Top: Dry Goods {similar} | Bow Tie: ASOS | Pants: Old Navy {old} |
Shoes: Steve Madden | Purse: Michael Kors {sold out} | Bracelet: Anthropologie {sold out} |

If you've been following along, you know I love all things girly. So when I saw this adorable oversized bow tie on ASOS, I knew she had to come reside in my closet. I mean seriously, how cute is it?! I can think of so many things to wear this with!

In other news–I recently have fallen in love with a store by the name of Dry Goods. As Kacie and I were wondering through the mall over lunch one day, we found this store and had to check it out. The store front had a old-time apothecary feel and the clothing selection inside was simply amazing. Their pieces were right on point with this season's trends, but not too crazy expensive–which is very nice when you want some new pieces but don't want to break your piggy bank getting them. Definitely check them out if you'd like to add some new clothing to your wardrobe!

"Mint" to Be + A Mint Julep Giveaway

Wearing – Sweater: The Mint Julep Boutique | Jeans: Old Navy {sold out} | Shoes: BCBG Paris | Necklace: {old} w/ David Yurman enhancer | Hat: American Eagle {similar} | Jacket: Marc Jacobs {old} | Bracelets: David Yurman 1, 2 | Ring: David Yurman | Watch: Micheal Kors

It may be winter, but this girl isn't feeling the cold weather anymore. I may have been born and raised in Indiana, but I dream of weather that is sunny and 65+ degrees year round. Sounds like I need to move to San Diego, right?!

While I love a good jewel-toned sweater and some boots, I also love the soft palette of colors that you typically see in spring. So what's a girl to do when it's winter and you're yearning from spring? Embrace a palette of mint, pink and white on a snowy day! I received this sweater from The Mint Julep Boutique and I couldn't be more excited to wear it. It's soft colors, comfortable fabric and adorable bow and chiffon detailing make this the ultimate Jaime-esque sweater. I decided to take advantage of the sunny, winter day and break out an outfit that not only pulled my out of my gloomy winter mood, but also looks super season appropriate when paired with the right accessories–a fun pink military coat, distressed white denim and metallic silver heels.

But seriously, is it spring yet? These single degree temps and windy days are making it a miserable time for this style blogger and her photos. To help break you out of your winter slump, The Mint Julep Boutique is offering one of our readers a $25 gift card! They have some of the most stylish pieces and we were so humbled to collaborate with them. Enter for your chance to win using the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck my stylish friends!

Lovely Lace + A Mint Julep Giveaway

Sweater: c/o The Mint Julep Boutique (loving this and this) | Jacket: Free People |
Boots: Mossimo (old) | Hat: Charlotte Russe | Necklace: Shop Bella C | Earrings: Target

When the weather is yucky and it's freezing cold outside, it can be easy to get in a sweater and leggings rut. Comfy? Yes. Boring? Yes.

Fortunately, there are adorable sweaters like this one from The Mint Julep Boutique, complete with super cute lace detailing to liven things up. Although it has been unseasonably warm in Indy (and I'm loving it), the sweater was a little thin so I layered on a leather jacket and added a marsala-hued floppy hat and headed to work.

Need some cute sweaters like this one to add a little flare to your winter-weather garb? Mint Julep is kind enough to offer one of our readers a $25 gift card! Seriously, they have the CUTEST stuff so enter for your chance to win using the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck, ladies!

Sequin Soles

Top: Juicy Couture (similar) | Jacket: The Rage Clothing Co. (similar) | Denim: AE
Heels: Nine West | Earrings: The Shopping Bag | Watch: Michael Kors

Anyone else tired of the cold and dreary, snowy days yet? In my opinion, winter should end the day after Christmas. Yesterday I had enough of the crummy weather and decided to liven things up with a fun sequin top and bright pink blazer. Tuesdays don't get much more fun than that... Wild and crazy, I know.

Anyway, how cute is this Juicy Couture sweatshirt my mom got me for Christmas? While it can easily be dressed down, I decided to dress it up for a day at the office. Add a military blazer, heels and a perky ponytail and I was out the door - Starbucks in hand.

Don't forget, there's still four days left to enter our $590 Nordstrom e-gift card giveaway! See original post to enter to win.
