While we love a good name-brand, we also like to shop locally and jumped at the chance to work with the amazing Midwestern jewelry designer behind Rachel Marie Designs. Her work is amazing and her pieces are absolutely gorgeous!

How long have you been designing jewelry?
RM: I have been designing jewelry since I was 12 years old, so just over 13 years. It started as a hobby and grew into a passion and now is a business!

Where do you get inspiration for your designs?
RM: I get inspiration from current fashion, timeless classic styles and from a fusion of other elements. I love seeing what is new and trending, but also want buyers to be able to wear their pieces for years to come.

What is one piece of jewelry you think every girl should have?
RM: One piece of jewelry that every girl should have is a great pair of sparkly earrings. Every day can be "glitzed" up just a bit because everyone needs a little extra glitter.

What are some of the latest jewelry trends you are seeing right now?
RM: The latest jewelry trend that I am seeing are bohemian looks, crystal and casual elements being mixed and turquoise. SO MUCH turquoise. I love turquoise, so that is fun for me.

How can our readers purchase your designs?
