Black & White Pattern Play

Taking blog photos is always an interesting fete as many of you know, especially when the background of your photos are tainted by a woman walking around in circles at the top of the hill listening to Cindi Lauper music, quickly followed by what sounded like dogs panting. Yeah, you read that right...panting; beyond strange. What can I say, it's never a dull moment.


Once we got past the interesting ambiance of the park of 80's throwbacks and panting dog music, we actually had a lot of fun snapping photos of our outfits. We recently partnered with Romwe and they were kind enough to send us a few pieces to check out. I chose this chic windowpane plaid sweater and I can honestly say it's amazing! It's super soft and the perfect length to wear with leggings–my winter staple as of late. I decided to skip the leggings for today and play up the winter white trend and play with my favorite patterns. My polka dot portofino top from Express and this awesome Kate Spade Saturday clutch made for a perfect mix of pattern when paired with the classic windowpane plaid. I topped off the look with a pair of red bow heels to add a little pop of color to the overall ensemble. Pattern play complete my friends!

      Thanks Elise! I love a good black and white look, so this one may be one of my favorites to date with all the pattern. The red shoes definitely make the look pop with just enough color to complete the look.

      Windowpane plaid is one of my favorite prints and I'm so pumped I finally found a sweater in black and white. It's such a classic print and I can't wait to style this sweater with more outfits.

    Eccentric woman, 80s pop and heavy breathing canines aside, anyone who dares to do shoots outside the comfort of their home is beyond brave in my books. Thus far, I've only taken pictures in my front, side and backyards, and I haven't ventured any further because I'm petrified :) kudos goes to you!!!! And I adore your outfit. So chic and fresh.

      Thanks Katie! Seriously I love this sweater. It was thick and cozy without being the slightest bit bulky. I'm a big fan of windowpane plaid right now and I always seem to just stick to black and white versions of it.

      They were actually surprisingly easy to walk in. I wish they made them in a flat version for you because the bows around the ankles are too cute.
