X marks the spot – perfect casual outfit found...

You know when you hurriedly throw together an outfit on your way out the door and it actually ends up being pretty cute? This was one of those days. I literally had no plans to photograph it and didn't even have my camera with me to do so. So these were taken on my iPhone and are slightly blurry as a result. But at least the outfit is cute, right?

Sometimes an outfit pops into your head as you're about to get dressed. You're not really sure where it came from, but hey, you roll with it. Today is one of those days. I finished my morning routine and started to get dressed when I thought I'd try out the chambray on dark denim style and mix it up with flares, a white tank and this adorable bandana choker from Limited Designs by Lulu & Doug. It wasn't until I got to work that I realized I look like I've been cast in an all female remake of Shawshank Redemption.

This look is my ode to summer (and forget about no white after Labor Day - lies!!). Like...its been nice, but see ya later. Give me all the colorful leaves, chai lattes, jackets, booties, scarves, and all black everything (plus, maybe Hocus Pocus, too). Because its not-quite-summer, not-quite-fall, dresses paired with booties are the perfect compromise. I give you, Exhibit A: this outfit.

Raise your hand if you're more than ready to transition into fall? That's totally a trick question because everyone is ready to bundle up with a pumpkin spice latte (or non-fat chai tea latte since coffee's not really our thing...) a cozy scarf and take in the fabulous season that is fall. Listen people, it's been another scorcher in Indiana recently and you can bet I'm not wearing fall clothing until it's cooled down a bit–meaning I'm not throwing on a sweater and sitting next to some leaves and pretending there's a chill in the air. Don't get me wrong, I love fall and all the cozy layering it entails, but I don't love sweating to death wearing all of those layers when it's still hot and humid.

One overall jumper + Converse + Round sunnies + One amazing bandana choker = 90s perfection.

Remember the 90s?? Please say yes. If Nickelodeon, Dunkaroos and Lisa Frank don't come to mind, we can't be friends. Sorry, that's just life. And friends, life can be rough. If only I could go back to the good old days, I would pay a whole lot more attention to the philosophical advice of Clarissa Darling and the world would be good again. *Sigh*
