Garfield in the Park

Let me tell you a little story. I'll set the scene for you–it's a warm fall day, and two fashion bloggers are out over their lunch break looking to snap some cute outfit photos before grabbing lunch at their favorite sub shop, when a moody cat on the prowl, with a striking resemblance to Garfield, appears. Since I'm an animal lover I can't resist walking over and petting this kitty, but this cat was definitely a interesting mix of adorable and a pet who forgot its morning Xanex. Trust me, you couldn't resist trying to be friends with this cat either.


So it's no secret hat I'm a huge animal lover–even the most grouchy animal, I tend to love. So while I'm taking outfit photos, this Garfield-look alike comes strolling into the park and I have to go say hello (mid-photos). My newfound cat friend has a bizarre demeanor and one minute was cuddly and wanting pet and then the next he was taking swipes at me.

Mistake 1: trying to pet a cat wearing a skull and crossbones collar, this should have been my first indicator that he's moody.
Mistake 2: trying to repeatedly befriend this cat. I finally decided to walk away, the cat followed and proceeded to whack me in the arm mid photo.
Mistake 3: trying to still befriend the cat, who decided at that point to be cuddly and cute.

At least I walked away with cute photos! Cat - 1; Jaime - 0

One thing I love more than a cat who needs a prescription of Xanex is this Free People jacket. The peplum and military style make this the perfect fall jacket. I'm wearing a small and totally wish I had gotten the XS though. Free People always makes the best jackets and I'm more than happy to open my wallet each season and snag them!
