Galentine's Day at Palomino Indy

Ah, Valentine's Day. A day all about love.

While we both have significant others, we ditched them for a dinner date of our own, to celebrate our everlasting love...for food. When Palomino invited us to come try their menu, we jumped at the chance, and what better occasion than an early Galentine's Day date?? So, donned in festive pink and red attire (see here and here), we excitedly headed downtown Indianapolis to give it a try!

Location & Atmosphere

We were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant conveniently located right at the corner of Maryland and Washington, at Circle Centre Mall. After parking in the garage and checking with the hostess, we headed to our little booth by the window where we could watch the city hustle and bustle and oh and ah over the gorgeous restaurant! (We can't wait to go back this summer and enjoy their outdoor seating!)

Drinks & Appetizers

First up, drinks! We tried the Lavender Cosmo and the Ginger Pear Martini, both of which had a perfect alcohol-to-sugar ratio, and were served with the most beautiful presentation.

Starving after a long day of work, we decided to share a small appetizer and thankfully our waitress, Sarah, recommended the Sicilian meatballs. With a parmesan and pistachio topping and a nice bite of spice, they were absolutely delicious and perfect for two! Both HUGE lovers of mushrooms, we then decided we absolutely could not pass up the Portabella Mushroom Soup and we both agree, this was our favorite part of the meal! It was creamy with the most delicious cream and herb flavor.

Choosing an entree was not an easy task! The menu varies from pizza and burgers to pasta, steak and seafood. Jaime, the Scallop Queen, chose the Asiago Almond Crusted Scallop, which were served with lemon asparagus risotto, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Kacie, who was tasked with bringing leftovers to her boyfriend, opted for the Rock Salt Roasted Prime Rib. This gigantic steak was served with crispy parmesan potatoes and seasonal vegetables–yum!

No Galentine's Day date is complete without a little sugar! We decided to get two choices and split them, and we are so glad we did! We ordered the Orange Ricotta Donuts (served with Nutella and raspberry sauce) and the Almond Crusted Lemoncello Cake with blueberry gelato on the side, YUM! Definitely our second favorite part of the meal!

With a beautiful atmosphere, great service and delicious food, we left two very happy (and full) girls! If you are looking for a place for a romantic Valentine's Day date in Indy or a place for a Girl's Night Out, we HIGHLY recommend giving Palomino a try! (Note: They have half price martinis on Tuesdays!)

Not in Indianapolis? They also have locations in Bellevue, Cincinnati, San Francisco and Seattle!

*This is a sponsored post. Our meal was paid for by Palomino but the opinions are our own. Trust us, it really is delicious!
