Ooooh, the holidays. My favorite time of year. When everything is lit up and sparkly and cookies are floating around the office...

It's also a time of year when I am most inspired to step away from my usual denim and sweaters and experiment with my style. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE fashion and dresses and fun skirts, but it just isn't practical for my everyday life. So, when I get the chance to dress up, I take it.

When I'm looking for quick and affordable trendy pieces, H&M is one of the first places I go. This polka dot top has the cutest little fluttery sleeves and because it was a crop, paired perfectly with my high-waisted Spanx faux leather leggings, which by the way, are the most comfortable pants that I own. This top is unfortunately from last winter, but I've linked some similar options below (and my shoes are from DSW many years ago, but I linked some similar pairs, as well!). If you know me personally, you know I love cats so this Kate Spade New York Out West Cat Ring and Cat ear bracelet were a must for my collection.

Now on to the star of this show. I've been looking for the perfect teddy jacket for about a year now, of course, in my favorite shade: black. I found this faux fur option at H&M and it was too good to pass up. Faux fur, faux leather – I'm just faux la la la la-ing my way through this holiday season and I'm not even made about it!

Jaime and I took these photos at a tiny roadside park before going Christmas shopping a few weeks ago. If you look closely at some of the photos, you'll even see a train roaring past. Perhaps it was the Polar Express??
