Sweater Weather

It's mid-January and sweater weather is in full swing! We got seven inches of snow last weekend and it's currently snowing again BUT, fortunately for me, I have a ton of new knits to keep me warm and toasty. So, in honor of being snowed in for the second weekend in a row, let's take a look at some of the sweaters featured on my Instagram lately and I'll share some tips along the way for jazzing up a simple sweater and denim look.

Color is not my forte... Like, give me all black, any day. BUT, this sweater was perfect for an unusually warm and sunny January day spent shopping with my love. I dressed this sweater up with distressed denim, heeled booties, Kendra Scott statement earrings and a top knot and it totally worked for me. Evidence: A lady at the home goods store told Jonathan and I that she bet our house was the best decorated in town because we were both so stylish, ha!

This sweater is from Indy boutique Dottie Couture, and it's sold out, but they have a ton of bright knits right now–I'm loving this and this!

Next up, this pom pom sleeve sweater from Bad Habit Boutique. This style is undoubtedly the most popular sweater of the season and after wearing one, I completely understand why! It's thick and soft, and so cute! I paired it with, you guessed it, black on black with this lace cardigan, layered jewelry and over-the-knee boots. This sweater is no longer available in green but does come in grey!

Another colorful piece from Dottie Couture! This sweater is seriously one of the softest I own and so, so comfortable. Something I never considered: pairing chunky knits with overalls for a unique look. It's cute paired with overalls, or just with jeans (I've worn it both ways), and big tassel earrings add an extra element of fun to play off the ruffle sleeves.

Last piece from none other than Dottie Couture! This black and white cardigan is so versatile and can be dressed up, or with a simple graphic tee, like I'm wearing it here. I wasn't feeling the greatest on this day and it was the perfect way to sneak my favorite comfy graphic tee into the office attire. Score! This sweater is no longer available (you know how boutiques are–the good stuff never lasts long!) but I'm loving this leopard cardi and this heart embroidered cardigan is perfect for Valentine's Day!

The best part of this blog post? I didn't pick out any of these pieces! My mom got me ALL of these sweaters for Christmas. Thanks mom! :)
